I am proud to announce my very first free Genesis child theme. Releasing a WordPress theme to the public has been something that I’ve wanted to do for a very long time and I’m glad I’ve finally taken this step.
The theme incorporates transparent elements and is a child theme for the Genesis Framework, hence the name ‘Transchild.’ My attempt at a clever name.

I have had a peak at the child themes in StudioPress and for me Transchild is the one I am going to choose to replace the sample Genesis child Theme. I will upload it tonight and let you know how I get on.

Brendan, You could remove the background image from the #content div. This would make the content area and sidebar the same color.

Thanks for offering this theme – I love it! I’m wondering – is there a way to show post navigation links at the bottom of single posts/pages? I’m pawing through the editor but couldn’t find exactly where to add those tags. Thanks for any help!

Quick question if you don’t mind – what is the name of the font you use for the header title in the Transchild demo?
I’m talking about the “transchild” written across the top left portion of the homepage. I’d love to use that style font for my new blog.

The font you are referring to is called Ballpark Weiner.

You should be able to change the background image from the Custom Background panel in the WordPress admin.
the theme background image overrides it.
Uploading a different background image will work. Only selecting a color will not work at this point. I’ll fix this in the next theme update.
